演讲稿：

Ladies and gentlemen, when talking about housing price, what is the word coming into your mind? "High"? "Skyrocketing?" Or "anxiety" or "fury"? Some people may even just choose the word "sigh". For it seems that we can do nothing with the soaring housing price. And whenever I heard some bad news about it, I just could not help feeling disappointed and complaining. I even thought that my family were doomed to live in the small old apartment forever, but my father's story changed my views totally.

"Don't be that pessimistic." My father said to me one day. "You know, when I was a child, my family lived in a tiny shabby house. I often had to share a bed with my brother. But you are brought up in a much better condition. Though our house is not very large, you are lucky enough to have a comfortable room of your own with an air conditioner. And I'm telling you, my dear, we are sure to live in a better house sooner or later. Because the possitive changes taken place in the past thirty years in China have made me firmly believe in greater progress ahead in the future."

My father's words kept echoing in my mind and made me reflect about my outlook on life and the world. Maybe, the future is hopeless at all, and the world is not that dissappointing. All I need is to have faith in social progress and the goodness of life, just as what my father does.

Many of us young people today seek for the promotion in career, but ignore to elevate our spirits, invest in stock and property market, but neglect to enrich our thoughts, maintain our skin carefully, but never polish the mind. So once the reality brought us down, we were easily defeated. Either will we turn to be cynics, or frustrated losers. Hence, it is time to turn to the long-deserted faith. Instead of burying ourselves in the endless complaints and criticisms, we need to pick up our courages and senses to bravely face the challenges.

Indeed, certain crisis may occur once in a while, problems like high housing price keep constantly restraining the development of Chinese people's livelihood. But China is still extending her comprehensive power rapidly.The improvement of my father's living condition is just a miniature of the rising China. So, ladies and gentlemen, please hold your faith dear and face the obstacles bravely, and life will reward you with a meaningful and colorful future.

My family is still living in the little apartment, but it is now lively and warm all the time, for it is filled with happiness and expectations. And I will never forget my father's words of being an optimistic and ambitious girl, holding fast to her faith and striving for the advancement of her world.
