Before I began my speech, I would like to share a story to with you. In 1995, a middle aged American quitted his decent job as a vice-president of a high-tech developing company to an internet book store. At that time, all the people thought he was crazy to give up what he had got and chase an unrealistic dream. Now, 16 years has passed. He has changed the purchase pattern of the whole world. Whenever electronic business is mentioned, his name follows. Who is this American? I believe all the youth present know the giant. This American is Jeff Bezos, the founder and chief executive of Amazon. Jeff Bezos’ success made me think deeply about my own life. What I lived for?
Fighting for my dream or to stay where I am? Definitely, everyone has a dream; however, it is not that easy for everyone to realize his dream. Especially when people are in the face of the stark reality, the common practice seems more easily to move the life on. At that time people would rather choose common practice instead of their own dream. However, if so, life will lose its special value. For such kind of routine life, people are sure of everything goanna happen in the lifetime which means all the fantastic surprises of life would be killed. Surely, this life-style is characterized with less pressure, but what we should keep in mind is that life is not simply supposed to concentrate on difficulties themselves. How to conquer them and take the initiative and make progress should be the theme of it. Through the process of one’s fighting, one will not only know life better, but also can realize one’s own value in the world.
Honestly speaking, I was quite puzzled about my life for quite a long time. I do have a dream actually, I want to be an excellent translator after graduation from university .But too many people warned me of that dream, they said that the society is complex and volatile ,so it is really very hard for me to be generally accepted by the society without a higher degree or sparkle experience. Hence, I started thinking about getting a postgraduate degree or going aboard both of which are at least proved by thousands of people as the actual way to success. But at this time another choice comes into being, that is, I still have to choose one from the two above. It is really an embarrassing choice for me as I am not interested in both of them. At this time all I could say is that the pressure of reality has changed my life in a way I do never appreciate at all. Therefore, it just occurred to me that no matter in which kind of form, life must be moved on, why don’t I just strive and fight for my dream.
Fighting for one’s dream firstly means basing oneself on a high stage of life and looking toward one’s own value. Fighting for one’s dream then means coming to the fore among the commons and carrying on one’s own value. Fighting for one’s dream finally means making one’s every endeavor on it and eventually scoring one’s life achievement! Therefor please do always remember that under no circumstance should we give up our dream! Life is but a dream!
